Kissing Tips
If you are unsure about how to get ready to it and behave during kissing, these basic kissing rules will help you. Let’s begin
Be prepared
If you think kissing is coming your way, get ready.
- Be clean. It’s best to wash the whole body, but take care with your face, hair and hands. Dirt can be a real turn-off.
- Wear clean clothes. Stains and dirt do not add to a romantic atmosphere of kissing.
- Have a fresh breath:
- Brush your teeth. There is nothing worse than a stinking breath.
- Skip smelly food – garlic and onions are not an option, unless the other person also eats them. Then, they will not notice.
- Have chewing gum or mints handy. Breath looses freshness over time (smell your own breath in the morning and you’ll see what we mean). Even if you brushed your teeth few hours ago, it might still be a good idea to refresh yourself again before the action. Just remember to dispose of the gum or mint before the kiss.
Be kind, gentle and mindful of your partner
Kissing is a real team sport. You both have to enjoy it. Think about your partner – be open to feel their reactions and moves and respond accordingly. Imagine kissing as giving your feeling over to the other person in a very intimate way. Or even better, as a conversation of two souls who found on another for a moment in time.
Be gentle
If newly in love, you’d probably want to jump on your partner and indulge in a long passionate kiss – you’d probably want to eat them alive!!!
Be careful though – our mouths are fragile and our teeth are hard. When you don’t yet know your partner that well (at least on the kissing front) it is easy to do a wrong move and cause pain or injury.
It won’t take you long to learn each other and there will be loads of time for passion afterwards. First steps should be delicate.
Be responsive
React to what the other side is doing. If they are starting slowly – just the lips – don’t go in immediately with your tongue – let the atmosphere pick up. On the other hand, if the are in for it with passion – well… you would not really want to cool them off, would you?
Know when to stop. Kissing is real pleasure, but if the other person brakes the kiss, don’t force it to continue – maybe they want to look you in the eyes for a second, maybe they want to tell you something.. or maybe you warmed them up and they want to pull their sweater off. Whatever the reason – be kind and understanding.
Use your whole body
Kissing is not just about the lips – it’s about the whole body.
First and foremost – use your arms and hands. Put your arms around your partner, hold them close, touch them. Stroke their hair, stroke their back, caress their face with your fingers.
That is however not all. We all know how important the body language is when we talk. It is just the same when you’re kissing. Don’t slouch as if tired or do weird movements – eg. starch your leg or straighten up jour jacket. Put your whole body into a kiss.
There is a sense of urgency in a passionate kiss – this can be felt through the body just as well as through the work of your lips. Show is to your partner and they will love it.
Remember to breathe
When you get lost in the moment, your lips sealed with those of your beloved… it is really easy to forget to breathe.
But breathing is essential. If you don’t breathe, you’ll start choking and the romantic atmosphere will be gone.
Breathe through your nose of course – don’t exhale into the mouth of your partner.
Coming to that – it’s really difficult to kiss if your nose in clogged. If you have a running nose, it’s much better to restrict yourself to brief kisses rather than going for the long open-mouth or french kisses. Leave that for when you’re healthy and your partner will really appreciate it, especially that a running nose might emit an unpleasant smell, which will put him or her off. Explain it to them and they should understand.
Remember to swallow
Yup! During long french and open-mouth kisses saliva can really build up. Remember to swallow every now and then.
And last but not the least…..
Enjoy yourself
Kissing is fun, it’s a pleasure, it’s loosing yourself in the other person for a moment. Forget the world, forget time – enjoy the kissing. Enjoy the kissing! It is fantastic!!!
